The Shenandoah Valley Chorus invites you

to participate in a

 

FIVE WEEK

VOCAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

FOR WOMEN.

 

Instruction will be provided by Jordan Markwood, who holds a

Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Houghton College, New York in 2005, and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy

from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, Princeton, NJ in 2007.

 Jordan is currently a Music Teacher of Middle School Students in

Loudoun County, VA. , and is the director of the Shenandoah Valley Chorus.

 

Topics that will be covered include:

 

Posture - the basis for all good singing

Breathing – the fuel for singing

Phonation – creating the sounds of music

Resonance – creating good vocal vibes

Articulation – creating words that communicate

Fundamentals – vowels, dipthongs, consonants, dynamics

Coordination – selling the song

 

 

Lessons will be held on Mondays May 10 through June 7, 2010 at the First Christian Church,

 75 Merriman’s Lane, Winchester

beginning at 6:30pm

each Monday.
