The Shenandoah Valley Chorus is chartered by Sweet Adelines International, and is a part of Region 14 which includes all chapters in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and the northeast corner of Tennessee.
Region 14 has more than 1000 members in 25 chartered Choruses.

Our Chorus presently has more than 22 members We have members from Winchester, Berryville,
Front Royal , Martinsburg, WV, and other nearby towns. The singers come from all walks of life.
They are nurses, professors, housewives, bankers and many other occupations – many of us are retired.
They are grandmothers, daughters, sisters, mothers and friends who share a love of music.
Four-part barbershop harmony and this love is what bring us together.

Sweet Adelines International is a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the
musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performances.
This independent, nonprofit music education association is one of the world's largest singing organizations
for women. "Harmonize the World" is the organization's motto.

Shenandoah Valley Chorus performs and teaches four-part a capella harmony in the barbershop style.
The Chorus was chartered in May of 1983 in response to the interest of area women in the barbershop style of singing.
Our first director was a member of the SPEBSQSA of the local men's barbershop group, the Apple Capitol Chorus.
